Ali MacGraw
Ali MacGraw, also known as Elizabeth Alice MacGraw, is an American writer and designer who has won numerous awards for her work. She has been a vocal advocate for animal rights. Her work has received acclaim for films like Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969) and The Getaway, (1972). New York was her home and she was raised in a creative environment. She began as a photo assistant before moving on to acting and modeling. Her first two movies were noticed and she received an award called the Golden Globe Award of Most promising newcomer. Her film MacGraw's Love Story from 1970 was a huge hit that brought her fame worldwide in addition to being an Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe Award. After only three movies, she was voted the Top female box-office start worldwide. Her handprints, autograph and footprints were engraved in 1972 at Grauman's Chinese Theater. In addition to The Getaway Convoy Players she also starred in the television miniseries The Winds of War. Her autobiography Moving Pictures was published in 1991. MacGraw was married three times.
