Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada, and is now American. She has released over 20 albums of studio work. DiFranco's songs are classified as folk and alternative rock. However, they also have influences from hip hop, jazz and punk. Ani Difranco has been deemed to be a feminist hero as well as a Grammy award winner. Being one of the first female artists in the 90s, she founded her own label. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd, 1970. She was she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco, who had been in contact while at in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian descent and her mother was originally from Montreal. Ani Difrasco wrote and recorded the track "32 Flavors". The track was released on her 5th studio album Not a Pretty Girl which was released in the year 1995. This song appears in the soundtrack to the Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized to host a seminar in Louisiana at an old slave plantation. It was cancelled but many (including the author of this article) were not able to sense any regret. DiFranco issued a further apology a few days later. Although she's known by the name of Little Peoplesinger, she has collaborated with a variety of musicians and artists from Pete Seeger through Chuck D until Prince. New Orleans is her home. Ani DiFranco is with Kristen Ford. Within 14 years she was making her own songs. They continued to be performed in bar and cafes during her teens. DiFranco began taking classes at Buffalo State College at age 16 following her graduation from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. Ani's baritone is a customized Alvarez guitar made after several meetings with Chrys the Alvarez artist representative during the time. It comes with the System 600 preamp and has the entire solid woods: a top of mahogany, a cedar top and sides as well as an ebony fretboard. The home she lives in is New Orleans. There she lives with her husband, kids and her long-legged sidekick Lefty. DiFranco has been three decades into her career says that looking back at the past has left her with mixed feelings. Ani DiFranco was a pop/punk songwriter and singer at 25, when her debut album Not A Pretty Girl hit the charts. Dilate, released in 1996, gained even more popularity amongst fans. Brandy (You're a Fine Girl) is a song released in 1972 written by American pop rock band Looking Glass from their debut album Looking Glass. Elliot Lurie wrote the song.
